Saki Episode of Side A
Moe mahjong, anyone? Quite simply, the main loli wants to revive her mahjong club and make it to the nationals, hoping to meet her childhood friend there. It kinda sounds like Chihayafuru, only, this is more childish and lighthearted, and there isn’t a single interesting character. All cute, no depth. What really threw me off was the perverted loli. Do they really need to be joking about their breasts in elementary school too? It’s getting very old in anime. Seriously.
The main reason I checked this out is because Saki (2009) has garnered decent reviews and scores. Plus, the art looks gorgeous. But I’m just not too impressed with this episode. There’s no telling if the games will be all that interesting, since we hardly got to see them play. I wouldn’t be able to follow them anyway (you know me and games), and that’s usually made up by engaging characters. Sorry folks, but I think I’ll pass on this one.
